3003 STEPS
TO
LINABO PEAK
Barely fifteen minutes away from the
City, stands the familiar narrow arch that serves as
gateway towards Dipolog's highest elevation point –
Linabo Peak.
3003 Steps to Linabo Peak – another of
Dipolog City’s favorite destinations, especially
tailor-made for the bold, the fearless and the spirited
nature aficionados.
On this
area developed by the City Government of Dipolog, 3003
concrete steps wind along tunnels of verdant trees
leading to a vista of sky, plains and sea horizon, and a
spectacular view of the twin cities of Dapitan and
Dipolog.
Concrete markers depicting the "14
Stations of the Cross" punctuate the way up the Peak to
a point 460 meters above sea level, where a community
chapel stands for both quiet and soaring spirits.
During the Lenten season, thousands
throng the 3003 Steps to Linabo Peak for the annual "Katkat
Sakripisyo" where Catholic devotees perform their
traditional penitential rites.
Not recommended for those with
cardiovascular problems, the site poses a challenge to
one's fitness, and offers a reward of breathtaking view
to those
