DIPOLOGNONS Out of the Closet
For a lot of women, myself included, fashion is irresistible. Some may get to the point of rivaling Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, and let herself be grabbed by the screening eyes of cunning men. The same point is taken with men who imitate Keanu Reeves or even Brad Pitt and many other good looking and sexy artists and performers that electrify women in an instant.
But despite of the fact that fashion has reached to the peak of modernity and tremendous change. Today, Dipolognons has remained simple and conservative yet elegant in any clothes that they wear whether or not it is made from eminent and well-known designers, they simply work on their natural best.
Some believe that the cost of the outfit that they wear such as gowns, jeans, t-shirts, skirts, blouses, pants and even underwear is not necessarily significant but it is the quality that counts. They prefer very useful clothing of their choice and are easy to wear that suits any kind of occasion.
There are even those who are not particular with the brand as long as it fits well to them and some purely believe that high-style living doesn’t have to come with a steep price tag on their shoulders.
Professionals and those so called “fashionista” have different tastes in fashion preferences. Some may visit several boutiques that has a little bit of everything they need especially those who prefer dresses made of colorful fabrics and eccentric designs and some other clothes with exceptional designs.
There are also women who are fond of buying clothes that they like which are made of neutral colors and classic cuts that they love to wear like silk blouses, straight cut jeans and off-shoulder dresses.
It’s a fact that some of the Dipolognon fashionista who cannot afford to buy branded clothes made by some famous designers go crazy in buying “Okay-okay” or imported used clothing from abroad and the most famous are those products from the United States of America and some other parts of the Asian continent.
When in luck, people dig up beautiful clothes and even those branded ones. That is why despite of the warm and uncomfortable positions while digging up the bulky clothes scattered on the floor, the hunting goes on and on.
On the fashion trends that the young people in Dipolog wear are particularly those living in the inner-city have their own tastes in choosing clothes and accessories. Apparently, they can’t help but go for branded and imported clothes to look their best. For them this is also a way of “going with the tide” and for some, it is just a way of self gratification and to feel the “sense of belonging” with the group that they are in.
Definitely, a few can afford buying all the things they wanted because more than often their parents are all working steadily or abroad. Sometimes they even ask their parents to accompany them in shopping so that they may see their brand and style of clothes.
So no wonder you can just see them crossing the streets or in any other party venues that can almost give you sore eyes because they sometimes they wear clothes that do not fit the occasion but nevertheless, they all look radiant in their own little way.
Good thing is that here in Dipolog, we no longer have go to big cities like Cebu and Manila or to any place in the country because suppliers and dealers of branded children’s wear and ladies and men’s wear are here and doing good business in Dipolog.
These include Bench, Penshoppe, Adidas, Jag, the well-known Avon Color Collection, House of Sara Lee, etc. where one can acquire quality and tested clothing that would last.
Aside from numerous boutiques surrounding the city, we also have several shopping centers to choose from, we have Lyndsy Emporium formerly Jerry’s Shoppers World, Roy Plaza, Friendly Mart, Happy Home, Novo Jeans, the newly opened Dipolog Center Mall and other business establishments that sells not only clothes but also sandals, shoes, caps different accessories and almost every thing we need.
All of us hear of the word “value” almost all the time and marketing slogan tells us of value for money. There are those who are contented with the clothes they purchased at a cheaper price but fits them well and feel comfortable with it.
However, there are also people who crave to death to outshine among others even if they spend thousands of pesos wearing those very striking dress for the sake of being recognized and remembered by other people.
Whatever our choice is, as long as it pleases us without bothering or disturbing others, we have all the freedom to wear whatever we want in the world.
