I.   FUNCTIONAL STATEMENT

                The City Information Office shall be responsible and in the front-line in providing  relevant, adequate  and timely information of the various programs and activities of the city government. It is  in-charge in the  formulation of measures and provide technical assistance to the local government by providing information  and researches data  needed in legislation and in the delivery of basic services and provision of adequate   facilities so  that the public may be aware of the different services extended by the   local government unit.

                It is also tasked to maintain an effective liaison between the government and its  residents especially in  the rural areas to facilitate prompt delivery of basic services  solution to issues and concerns, and encourage people’s support and participation    to the different programs and projects of the local and national  government.

                During man-made, natural disasters and calamities, it shall closely coordinate  with agencies concerned  through the provision of relevant and timely information   relief and  rehabilitation giving emphasis on the     actual condition of the victims.

 II.    OBJECTIVES

                 As a liaison between the government agencies and its residents, this office 
      aims to facilitate and  hasten the delivery of basic services and provide answers to
      complaints,  queries, or requests on matters of general concern. It also aims to
      effectively provide the people with updated, correct, accurate and relevant 
      information on the programs and  activities of the city government.

A. Information Dissemination:
    1.Maximize information dissemination to provide people with the latest Whole year round
    2.  Come up with daily news round-up of the city government’s different   activities in the two existing AM   radio stations and the two FM    radio stations. This is designed to keep the people especially in the     rural areas well informed on the     accomplishments and on-going    projects of the city. Likewise,    this activity will also substantiate this office’s periodic information   drive in both the print and broadcast    media.  Whole year round
    3. Establish a data-base of information   and automation of office to facilitate the retrieval/access on basic information  needed in legislation and decision making.   Whole year round
    4.  Come up with documented accomplishment    report to the Local Chief Executive, printing  of primers/hand-outs/leaflets and pamphlets   relative to the development programs     of the city government. Whole year round
B. Community Affairs Activities:
   1.  Establish a link between the different government agencies, non-governmental  organizations and the people to facilitate    their needs and hasten the delivery of  basic good and services. Whole year round
    2. This office intends to coordinate with other local government agencies in the   implementation of assemblies to bring      the government closer to the people. This is designed to inform the people on the different programs and activities of city government agencies, and its priority for the benefit of their barangays and at the same time give timely and relevant   action on their needs.  Whole year round
     3.  Gathering of research data, to provide   technical assistance to the executive and   legislative branches of the city government.  Whole year round
