DIPOLOG CITY. Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral Parish, Dipolog is once again is celebrating the 2002 Sinulog Festival today January 26, Saturday.

The activity was programmed to be participated by 23 contingent from Singles for Christ, Mibang Chapel, Apostolado del Carmen, Central Barangay, CWL, Medalla Milagrosa Surf Chapel, National Council of Women of the Philippines, City Tourism Council, Hotel and Restaurant Association of Dipolog, Upper Turno Youth Ministry, Sta. Filomena Chapel, HIJCP, Sta.Isabel Chapel, Look, Estaka, Lower Turno Youth Ministry, Biasong Chapel, Tribo ni Juan, Tribo ni Tino, Saint Mary’s Academy, Pundok Mangingisda ni Lando and Miputak Chapel. Though during the actual presentation only few had joined the said Dipolog Sinulog Festival.

For the first time in DPL Sinulog Festival, contingents seem not to be as lively as before. The participant’s custom was not as attractive as the past festival. Viewers were not eager as it was before. According to one of the Dipolognon who witness the said event this is due to the new policy made by the organizers that there will be no money involved in the activity, it is just pure devotion to the child Senior Sto. Nino.

The festival opened up by a fluvial parade and the street dancing at Sta. Cruz, Punta Corro and end up in Plaza Magsaysay for the mass and program followed after.
